{"id":9380,"date":"2016-08-09T19:09:47","date_gmt":"2016-08-09T19:09:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gandgmag.wpengine.com\/articles\/blog\/a-texas-limonade-cocktail\/"},"modified":"2021-07-07T13:36:56","modified_gmt":"2021-07-07T17:36:56","slug":"a-texas-limonade-cocktail","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/gardenandgun.com\/recipe\/a-texas-limonade-cocktail\/","title":{"rendered":"Shuck Shack Limonade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cAll around Texas, you\u2019ll find Mexican popsicles with frozen fruit puree called paletas,\u201d says Jason Dady, the chef\/owner of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shuckshack.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u><strong>Shuck Shack<\/strong><\/u><\/a>, an East Coast-style oyster bar in San Antonio, Texas. \u201cI was driving around one day thinking of cocktail ideas, and I wondered, <em>why not put a paleta in a drink<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What he came up with is a concoction that starts with Texas\u2019 own Deep Eddy Lemon vodka, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice. Then he places a lime-flavored paleta upside-down in the cup. You can enjoy eating the popsicle between sips if you wish, or simply leave it to slowly melt\u2014both cooling the drink and deepening the citrusy flavors.
